This course is designed to teach and give hands-on training to individuals desiring to enter the field of Phlebotomy; a clinical laboratory science profession that involves working with blood extraction.
The course is 165 hours in length and includes the Basic Healthcare Worker Core (90 classroom hours). A broad foundation of essential competencies serves as an introduction to Health Science careers.
The primary goal of Phlebotomist (75 classroom hours), is to instill the latest information on blood collection techniques, skills, and equipment for a safe, effective specimen collection.
Upon completion of the course, students will have had the opportunity to earn CPR/First Aid certification and take the National Phlebotomy Certification exam, as well as having awareness in Domestic Violence, Nutrition and Blood borne pathogens.
