Basic Skill Levels: TABE Test Scores: 9th grade in Reading, Math, and Language

 

Program Description:

 

This program provides theory and hands on learning in precision computer numerical control (CNC) machining.

The content covers broad transferrable skills in the manufacturing industry.  Students learn both machining and

CNC programing.

Students will earn NIMS certifications for both CNC Lathe and CNC Milling.

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and First Article Reports are covered.

Machining history and careers

Safety, organization and hand tools

Machine tool math

Metrology

Manufacturing process planning

Engineering, drawings and tolerance

Maintenance, lubrication, and cutting fluids

Setup and operate a drill press

Setup and operate manual lathes and mills

CNC machine basics

CNC control panels

CNC turning

CNC milling

CAD/CAM programing
