Practical Nursing Application Information
March 2012

The application period is October 25, 2011 through November 15, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

The following must be submitted at the same time and in person:

  • Official high school transcript from a regionally accredited institution or GED Transcript

  • The transcript must be in a sealed envelope and marked accordingly

  • College graduates must submit official transcripts.  Only college transcripts from schools that are regionally accredited will be accepted.

  • Only A.A., Bachelor's or Master's degrees from regionally accredited institutions will be accepted.

  •  GED and high school graduates must take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).  The test must be taken at Brewster.  Students must score a minimum of 11.0 in reading, math and language.

  • Graduates of foreign high schools and universities must take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and the CASAS Test. For the TABE, the student must score a minimum of 11.0 in reading, math and language. The CASAS Test must be 86L and the 187R and the minimum score in each section must be 236. CASAS scores must be within 6 months of the application period (no test taken before April 25, 2011 will be honored).

  • ALL TESTING MUST BE DONE AT BREWSTER.


A lottery will be conducted after November 15, 2011 and applicants will be notified by mail prior to December 5, 2011.

For those selected, a mandatory meeting will be held January 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in   Building 3, Room 216.  Latecomers will lose their seat in the class.

A small percentage of seats are reserved for Brewster PCT graduates.
